I think that as long as we keep hailing economy and profits as the most important things in life, we voluntarily abandon the right to complain about food made cheap, fast and crap to make greater profits. And let's face it, that's exactly the issue here.

We want the system that trades healthy food (expensive) for junk food (cheap). We may not want that food, but as long as profits are so important to us, we should have the spine to accept junk food, cruelty to animals and the depletion of the rain forests.

As for me, I really don't give a shot. We get what we deserve, it's that simple. We want it, we got it.

BTW: I don't eat at McD because it tastes like cows droppings imo. If I want a burger, I'll go to one of them small burger stalls. They often makes the best burgers there is.

We don't think quite the same but I agree here. Everyone buys what he likes best; nobody's forcing anybody to buy, and nobody should tell other what to eat--except for his mum, that is.

I worked for 6 months in a mcdonalds in the UK.
i will never ever work for that company again
i refuse to enter their premises
and i will never let my children eat that garbage

the burgers are not burgers, they are legally known as "meat patties"
the mayonaise was often left in dispensers out of the fridges over night.
Hands were ment to be cleansed every 2 hours, and after any contact with floor, door handles, toilet etc.
The cleansing stations often lacked soap, and supervisors often told us not to wash hands as to hurry work.

During periods such as 2minute silences for Rememberance Sunday, we stoped working above counter , but in the back were forced to continue packaging burgers under the counter, so as to avoid customers seeing.

Once someone Droped an entire 1kg pack of salt into the deep fat fryer, it wasnt changed for 2 weeks, and we had no complaints about the chips.

and thats the stuff i can mention without being physcially sick and retorting to single incidents.

I can't much speak for the behind-the-scenes sanitation at McDonalds outside of North America, but in the continental US it isn't exactly a beacon of high quality (though it's not quite so bad as it apparently is in the above mentioned locations). However, while it isn't the most upscale restaurant around, it is required to comply with health codes just as any other restaurant. While that isn't saying a whole lot, you'll generally hear the same horror stories pretty evenly distributed among all the fast food chains over here. Jack-in-the-Box with the tainted beef, Wendy's with the defacation in the food, etc. This like this just happen and will continue to because these places will hire just about anyone and sometimes "anyone" can mean less than upstanding members of society will be handling your food.
