I never used them . It takes me 2 mins to load main page and 5 mins to load forum index page. Thank god I managed to block some ads on the main page. Due to my 2MB video card my computer was so slow.

Well, I never found any games not working on HoTU
Well I have. But then again, I probably went through their entire (and I really must say it's overwhelming) data-base. The thing that really impressed me was, that I found games there (and information about games), that I couldn't find at Mobygames. But, some info was different and like I said, some games didn't work.

It's true, some of their games don't work, like Micro Machines 2. Luckily the one on Abandonia does work

Yep, HoTU
Oh, it's THIS website LOL
Yeah, it's one of the best abandonware websites around, but I never managed to feel like a part of its community. Abandonia is alot better at that one

I think the problem with HOTU's community is that its so large nobody really gets "in touch" and the admins/site managers are too busy getting more games to add on to their selection, unlike here were the admins are always nie and talkable

I Like Abandonia because:

It's user friendly.. like users help users.. on the forums..
It's fast.. one of the most important requirements for a good Abandonware Site (imo)
The Page`s are well designed.. smooth web design and an eye catching color scheme
Good Structure .. makes it easier to search & find the games
Heavy Updates.. i mean one update or maybe 2 per day can't be toped
Last but not least, a big community..

OK sure HOTU is bloated but what about this:
http://mac.the-underdogs.org/

A person who hosts a mac gaming site and abandonware site is truely doing a great job

Hmm...

As absolutely no-one has mentioned the oldwarez list, does that mean it is a sucky addition? Because it is huge amount of work keeping it updated and adding new games every single day, checking statuses, locating shops, homepages for freeware and whatnots.

So if people don't think it is a great idea, (we are the only site that offers anything like it), then there is no real reason to continue with it.

I think it's a great idea (not sure about calling it the oldwarez list though) - I suspect you'll find that the people who like it aren't bothering to reply in this topic; it seems lots of people are like me and actually hang around here for the community (I've d/led one game from here in a few months, and that was to test it to help someone else troubleshoot it) but occasionally visit hotu to get something they're hosting which isn't elsewhere or they've got permission for (SMAX, for instance).
