Talking ?

Hi, there,

The stupid yog thought that after killing Lord Xeen, the mission accomplished. Wrong!
The above person thought that after killing Lord Alamar, the mission accomplished. Wrong at all!
He had to reunite the both Xeen worlds. Easy to say, hard to do.
I have to
  1. * turn on the machines at the corners of Cloudside ??
  2. * wake the sleepers in the Elemental Planes in Darkside - done
  3. * rescue Prince Roland from Alamar's Castle
  4. * open the way to the Cloud world above Darkstone Tow

Well, lets go:
Status: All heroes 60-66 levels. Age : 31-32.
Money and gems: 4.5 mil gold ; 22 000 gems.

Problems and questions:
  1. In location C3/6/9 in Gemston mine, a God of Minerals asks me to give him 250k gold to replenish the gems inside mountains. Yes or not?
  2. In Dungeon of death (Clouds of Xeen ) area I fulfilled the problem level 2 with kind help of The fifth Horseman ( Dzenkue bardzo, pane 5). Then I killed these very strong Vampire kings (5 pieces) in the coffins and entered level 3. Here I find and bang all 4 gongs but when back in location 17/3 I am unable to proceed with lever receiving a message: “The lever won't budge”, so I an unable to enter level 4 and meet again all Xeen cloning, fight and stop 4 Xeen machines. So sadly even I know this task is additional.. Is this a game bug , or yog is wrong?
  3. In the Skyroad I jumped like grasshopper and find some yellow teapots ( Y'now, same as in the dessert below) but their owner has very strange feeling of gratitude, offering me to: A) Yog Die; B) Yog friends die, C) None of above – every chance results in imm. Dead.. So, jumping randomly by Teleport I found in area E1 3 tradesmen offering me some stuff for 200 or 400 or 600 gems. Buy or not?
  4. I am unable to turn on the machines at the corners of Cloudside - “Activate the machines. This is easy. Use the Teleport spell to reach the reflectors in the corners of Cloudside.” A quotation. But how to do that action? Where to teleport myself? Reflectors??Dont see any?
  5. Where, the hell, is this Dragon Tower (Cloudside D1 10/5) and its key? In Alamar Castle dungeon? 13/3?
  6. A yog trick for Skybandits – Simply keep all your money in the Swiss banks. Take with you less than 10 k gold and answer 1 to bandits. They do not accept 9999 gold so keep going the road. He he ..

Thanks a lot.

Yog starving to finish this 7 year long saga..

1. If you have grabbed all Gem in all Mines say yes and the Mines will be filled with Gem again. So you grab more Gem. bring them to A3/A4 to buy Gem Armor but NO Weapon! (a Diamond Panzer Armor for example can be selled for over 200000 Gold) so you can sell it. Then repeat it to make more Money.

2. you need to ring the 4 Gong at (2/3), (2/28), (29/4), (27/30) first before you can pull the Lever. That is all what you need to enter Level 4.

3. even Though one who receives Death becomes EXP. Please check before and after Death the Experience Points. Its like "You will die but get lots of Exp".

You mean Amulett, Talisman, etc with Attributes? That is up to you for to decides but you find usually better stuff in Chest and so, i Think.

4. Where? at every Corner in Clouds World.

teleport yourself on that small Island outside, but beware a false Step means instantly Death for all. On these Islands you can only do one thing.

5. The Dragon Tower is in the Middle of Lavasea! The Key is east from the Exit to Shangri-La in Dungeon.

6. If you are strong enough you can fight them. why pay when you can kill them. ^^

Been a long time since I played through the whole thing--since it first came out, in fact--so I started up a new game.

Just a few hints, nothing much:

Stick to the cloudside, first. It begins at level 1. Darkside begins with a boss at level 5, and some level 3 beasties.

Check out the two fountains near Vertigo at the start of every day. One gives you a small armor boost, the other adds greatly (at that point) to your hitpoints.

Try to grab the phyrna roots from the pasture to the south, so the quest near Vertigo will net you a bunch of poison antidotes. This will prove very helpful in your first dungeon.

Build up your party. Spend on spells--the only weapons upgrades you should consider are making sure those in your party who can use ranged weapons, have them.

The mirror in Vertigo will take you to the four other cities, if you name them. I generally found that after making it through the Red Dwarf Mines, I was ready to take on all the cities, in their natural order. Be sure you get Asp cleared out prior to taking on Rivercity! The Asp fountain will give your party extra levels for a day: a real boon, as you'll discover once you enter the Street Fightin area of Rivercity.

More, later.

Nightshadow has the fountain which grants the important extra levels. The Asp fountain only grants a few hitpoints.

You're right--though there's nothing wrong with +100 hit points per drink, especially when it's added after you've visited Nightshadow. That means your party usually gets to take two swigs a piece, one to bring it up to approximately where it would be at a +5 level, and another for the additional 100 points beyond that.

Let's see...

Save before you eat any of the "forbidden fruit" in the Darkside. Some of the fruit that causes negative effects are pretty counter-intuitive, in my opinion.

Lloyd's Beacon is a damn useful spell: let's you set a spot, and port back to it, whenever you want to, as long as your character is awake, has enough spell points, and your party is out of battle. Although only Sorcerers and Archers can cast LB, at higher levels you can find or purchase items that contain the spell. Be sure to give one to each party member, and let them set independent locations. Two LB items on a single party member will always go to the same place.

Return repeatedly to the rundown castle on the Lightside. You'll be able to purchase repeated upgrades, that will yield opening stones to other dungeons.

Although you don't have to sleep for 24 hours before feeling the effects, try to get your party in a regular cycle of sleeping (always 8 hours, unless you're awakened in an unsafe area) when night hits. That's because come 5 AM, all fountain effects, spells, blessings, etc, wear off on your party. You probably don't want to be in the middle of somewhere dangerous without a quick exit back to town when all your bonuses, etc, wear off.

Giving a donation in Vertigo until the blessing takes effect is a good, cheap way of getting some nice bonuses early in the game. Later, when your cleric has Day of Protection, you'll find it far more powerful in giving you the same bonuses.

Note that if you have to unpetrify, resurrect, etc, a party member at a temple, he/she will lose all their fountain effects, etc. Uncursing is separate, and doesn't lose these.

More to come.

Rangers and druids can cast LB too. An item which casts LB can be used by different party members for different locations. Make sure you don't spend the last charge, it's worth using recharge spells or items on it.
