![]() Im putting this in technical cause it's dealign with file extensions, etc etc.
So, at school I downloaded a bunch of brushes for adobe illustrator and they worked fine...... But now when i download them from deviant art, they come in an .abr extension which illustrator tells me is an 'unknown file type' and they need to be in a .ai extension....any idea's about how to get the brushes to work in Illustrator?

![]() ABR brushes are for Photoshop. You can't simply convert non-vector into vector brushes.

![]() why don't you contact the person who made the brushes you want to download and ask him?

![]() You can make art brushes in Illustrator similar to how you can make them in Photoshop. But there is no way to directly convert a brush .abr to an Illustrator file (They are two different sets of code. You can't directly convert a raster tool to a vector tool, which is what you are trying to do).
You should ask here, as most of these guys know more than I do: http://www.graphic-forums.com/ Last edited by Pandaaa; 12-04-2010 at 06:00 PM. |
