Some old games may need a lot of processing power, but I am wild guessing here that it's mainly because of emulation needs. Windows don't have a "true DOS" at all so somewhere it must be "emulating" it somehow.
When using programs like DOSBox and Nesticle then it's obvious that you require a lot of processing power. Emulation always need a lot of that. |
